ENHANCEMENT OF LGBT COMMUNITY
2017-03-10 | 2017-08-30
Due to the fact that, LGBT activists have to strive in today’s Georgian society, which lacks tolerance towards the issue, the community is under constant pressure and has to deal with a range of impediments regarding rights protection movement. Each activity implemented by the LGBT community has been followed by a repulsive incident, which in some cases strengthens the community’s vitality to fight, but often frustrates them.
Considering, the vulnerability of LGBT community towards psychosocial problems caused by the violent environment, GCRT will implement activities oriented towards strengthening the LGBT community activists, which implies community based interventions. These will, on one hand, increase their resistance level towards stress and crises situations, and on the other hand, will help mobilize the LGBT activists and strengthen the community. In addition it will increase the useful skills of mutual support and mutual assistance among the community members.
Project activities will be mainly based on colleague’s mutual counseling (intervision) methodology. Working groups will be assembled according to activist’s and manager’s positions.Georgian Temporary Relocation Program “Tbilisi Shelter City”
